What is AlbumExposure?
AlbumExposure is an online application that improves and streamlines your album workflow with realistic presentation of each album design, ability for quick client feedback, and efficiency in the revision process. Instead of a generic slideshow, a potentially confusing email dialogue, or the time consuming nature of presenting album designs in person, AlbumExposure makes it simple to create a dynamic online presentation for your clients. Have presentations ready within minutes and give your clients an easy and desirable way to review, provide feedback, see revisions, share with others, and approve their final album.
However, that's really just the beginning! You can use AlbumExposure to promote your brand by embedding your albums on your blog or website as well as sharing a public version of the presentation (both sans comments) with others directly. Also, once approved by your client, try our Send to Print feature and send your album to print you're your favorite album companies directly from AlbumExposure.
How much does it cost?
AlbumExposure is an annual subscription of $150, or $15 per month if monthly payments are preferred. Your subscription provides for unlimited use of AlbumExposure, so create as many albums as you like and leave them in your account for embedding and promotion forever. Also, we are constantly improving our software with new features and upgrades, so you'll get those immediately as they're released.
Even if you're only doing a few albums per year, we believe the time you will save, the improvement in client experience you'll achieve, and the increased sales you'll realize by using AlbumExposure will make the cost more than worth it.
How can I customize it?
You can customize your AlbumExposure account to match your existing brand by simply uploading your logo, placing it as desired and choosing an appropriate color background. You can also mask the url, so that your client will visit your domain to view their album instead of albumexposure.com. To get a better feel for customizing your AlbumExposure account, please watch the 90-second video on customizing here.
Do I need a particular design software?
No, as long as you can output jpeg files from your album design software, you can use whatever design software you like. We know everyone has a preference and there are many options, so we leave that up to you. That said, we do recommend Photojunction, which has been seamlessly integrated with AlbumExposure to make creating albums and receiving comments even easier on your workflow.
Do I have to use a particular book company?
The short answer is no (but keep reading!). We specialize in helping you through the proofing process and once the design is approved, you can create your book with any company you prefer. However, if you choose one of our Send to Print partners, you can send the files directly from AlbumExposure, eliminating another step in your workflow and usually speeding up the process with the album company. It's a big win for all!
Can I include music in the presentation?
Yes! You can upload any file you like in mp3 format, just make sure that you have permission to use the music that you upload. If you're looking for some music, we've included a few royalty free songs from our friends and also highly recommend Triple Scoop Music, the premier provider of quality, legally licensed music for photographers...and as a benefit, AlbumExposure users always get a 10% discount!
How do I create an album presentation?
It's easy! Just choose a name and password for your album, select the album preferences, and then upload the jpeg images of your album design. To see how simple it really is, please check out our 90-second overview video for creating and presenting an album here.
Who can view the album presentation?
When you create an album, you choose a unique password for it so that only the person to whom you provide the password will be able to view it. This protects the comment process between you and your clients. However, you can also make an album public in order to share it for promotion. If you choose to do this, you'll be given a public url to share however you choose. Anyone will be able to view the public version of the album presentation, but with the comment feature removed, so that the comment process remains protected. You can also embed albums on your blog or website with an embed code, similar to embedding a YouTube video. This makes for a wonderful promotion of your work and on a blog, can provide another opportunity to celebrate your clients.
How does the comment and revision process work?
Once you've created your album, we provide an email template for sending the link and album password to your client. When logged in, your client can give feedback directly on each spread and then submit the comments back to you, unless of course they love it immediately and simply approve the album. In either case you'll get an email notification and the comments or approval will be saved in your account. If revisions are necessary, just make changes to the spreads requiring a change and upload only those revised files. You're able to drag and drop into the right order as needed and will be ready to resend to your client for approval. We've literally seen the revision process reduced by weeks and in some instances months by many studios using AlbumExposure, so we're confident you'll love it! To see this in action, please watch our 90-second video on AlbumExposure's functions and features here.
What's the deal with Internet Explorer?
Internet Explorer 9 supports almost every HTML5 feature that AlbumExposure uses. You may see some things on the backend not look quite right, but everything should work correctly. Client presentations should work just fine in IE 9.
If your clients are using IE 8 or lower, they will still be able to view and comment on albums in slideshow view but not in book view. If you're using IE 8 or lower things on the backend may not work correctly, so use at your own risk.
We strongly recommend Firefox or Chrome for our users on Windows.
